TraceLink Roles
Owner
Owners are Members who purchase a TraceLink app on the TraceLink Network. Owners establish a shared working space with other Members on the TraceLink Network through a Link within each app instance.
Partner
Partners are Members on the TraceLink Network (e.g. a company, location, or user) with an established Link to an Owner's app.
If the Partner happens to be an entity of the Owner's company (e.g. an internal location), that is considered an Internal Partner.
TraceLink Roles in Company Administration
Company Administration determines the global settings across all apps, regardless of the company's role in a specific app (i.e. Owner or Partner). The drop-downs below describe the use cases for all functions in this app.
Use Cases
Functions within Company Administration
- View and create access keys for synchronous interactions through the API.
- View, edit, and add new users and roles.
- View and configure the company's owned and linked apps.
- Update company information.
- Register and update devices connected to TraceLink applications (e.g. handheld devices or smartphones with Smart Inventory Tracker installed).
- Establish Links with partner companies and locations within specific apps.
- View and edit the settings for the company's locations, as well as the company's trade partners and their locations.
- View and set configurations for ProcessLinks, which provide a workspace to share Messages and track the progress of the product's manufacturing process. Only users with access to ProcessLink Workspaces use this function.
- Determine which events in different apps trigger automatic actions within TraceLink.
- View and generate audit trail data files.
- Access Info Exchange through Administration to:
- View message details.
- Import messages.
- Create extracts of the metadata and transferred files, and then download the data.
- Configure EDI settings.
- View, create, and update Info Exchange profiles.
