Configure EDI Settings

Overview

Select Configure EDI Settings on the Info Exchange screen.

Edit the Electronic Data Interface (EDI) settings for partner companies. The EDI settings define the identifiers that the company uses for messages (e.g. ASN and Functional Acknowledgment).

My EDI Settings

  • My Interchange (ISA) Receiver ID Qualifier – The type of ISA identifier the company uses when receiving messages (e.g. ASN and Functional Acknowledgment).
  • My Interchange (ISA) Receiver ID – The value for the ISA receiver identifier.
  • My Group (GS) Receiver ID – The identifier for the Group Segment within the ISA message that the company uses when receiving those messages. This value should match the company's Group (GS) qualifier.
  • EDI Functional Acknowledgement (997) Messages – Indicates whether the company sends or receives Functional Acknowledgement messages in response to ASNs.
    • My Company Sends Functional Acknowledgement (997) Messages – The company sends messages to the Partner acknowledging the receipt of an ASN.
    • My Company Expects to Receive Functional Acknowledgement (997) Messages – The company receives messages from Partners acknowledging the receipt of an ASN.

Partner EDI Settings

  • CSV File With Updated Settings – In the CSV file, specify the above settings for each partner that the company interacts with through the TraceLink application.

    • The CSV file must be properly formatted or it will not be accepted by TraceLink.

    When downloading a CSV file, select Save rather than Open, and:

    • View the file in MS Excel. See Export a CSV File to Excel in Troubleshooting.
    • View the CSV file in a text editor.

    The following example is truncated for viewing because of the large amount of element headers. For the complete list of element headers, see the Element Headers drop-down below.

    • PartnerType – The identifier type of the Partner's ID.
    • PartnerIdValue – The value of the Partner's idenitifer.
    • ISASenderIdType– The type of ISA identifier the company uses when receiving messages (e.g. ASN and Functional Acknowledgment).
    • ISASenderIdValue – The value for the ISA receiver identifier.
    • GSSenderIdValue– The identifier for the Group Segment within the ISA message that the company uses when receiving those messages. This value should match the company's Group (GS) qualifier.
    • ControlNumber_856 – The control number the Trade Partner uses to send and receive ASNs.
    • ControlNumber_997 – The control number the Trade Partner uses to send and receive Functional Acknowledgment messages.

Available Actions

  1. Select My Interchange (ISA) Receiver ID Qualifier from the drop-down.
  2. Select My Interchange (ISA) Receiver ID from the drop-down.
  3. Enter My Group (GS) Receiver ID in the text field.
  4. Select one or both checkbox options for EDI Functional Acknowledgement (997) Messages.
  5. Select Submit.

    The Info Exchange screen displays, and the updates EDI settings are saved.

  1. Select Choose File in the Partner EDI Settings section to upload a CSV File With Updated Settings.
  2. Select Submit.

    The Info Exchange screen displays, and the updates EDI settings are saved.

  • Select PartnerEDISettingSample.csv in the Partner EDI Settings section.

    The file downloads.
