Applications

Overview

  • Select Applications from the Management landing page.
  • Expand the Management Navigation in the header of any screen, and select Applications.

View and search the apps that the company has access to (either as an Owner or Partner) and perform administrative tasks:

  • Manage users' access to specific apps.
    • Owner Managers can add and remove internal users and Partners linked to their apps.
    • Partner Managers can add and remove users from their company for apps that they manage the Link for.
  • Manage data and testing for certain apps to help fulfill compliance requirements (e.g. for EU Compliance).

Search Criteria

  • Keywords – Part of an app name or Owner name.
  • Application – Apps available (defaults to All and options only include apps where the user is the Manager).
  • My Company's Role – Indicates the company's role within TraceLink.
    • All 
    • Owner – Apps in which the user's company is the Owner.
    • Partner – Apps in which the user's company is a Partner.
  • Linked Entity Type – The entity type of the linked Partner.
    • All
    • Company – Partners linked to the app as a company.
    • Location – Partners linked to the app as a location. Only available if My Company's Role is Partner.

Results Table

  • Owner – The company that owns the app.
  • My Company's Role – Indicates the company's role within TraceLink.
    • Owner – Apps in which the user's company is the Owner.
    • Partner – Apps in which the user's company is a Partner.
  • App Name (Application) – The name that the Owner assigns to their app, followed by the application type.
  • Description – The Owner's description of the app (displays as -- if the Owner did not enter a description).
  • Linked Entity Type – The entity type of the linked Partner (displays as -- if My Company's Role is Owner).
    • Company – Partners linked to the app as a company.
    • Location – Partners linked to the app as a location.
  • Partner – The name of the linked Partner (displays as -- if My Company's Role is Owner).

If the user is a Manager for an app that the company owns as well as a Manager for a Partner (e.g. for an internal location linked as a Partner), 2 rows for that app display.

Request Master Data Reports Dialog Box

  • Product Master Data – The set of Master Data to generate a report for.

    Currently only Product Master Data is available.

Import Suppliers Dialog Box

Upload supplier names as an alias into the Supplier Name drop-down of the Create Change screen in the Change Management app. This allows an Owner to display user-assigned values for Partners.

  • CSV File – The CSV file containing the supplier information.

Use the following element headers in the CSV file:

  • SubscriberCompany – The name of the Partner company acting as a Supplier.
  • SubscriberCompanyIdentifierType – The type of identifier for the Supplier.

  • SubscriberCompanyIdentifier – The identifier value for the Supplier.

    See Identifier and Item Code Types for more information.

  • BusinesEntityName – The Owner-assigned name for the Supplier.
  • BusinessEntityKey – The Owner-assigned company identifier for the Supplier.

    The Supplier's identifier is unique to the Owner's external database.

  • Active – Indicates whether the Supplier displays in Change Management as an option.
    • TRUE – The Supplier's BusinessEntityName displays.
    • FALSE – The Supplier's BusinessEntityName does not display.

Available Actions

  1. Select the Search icon () on the left to reveal the search fields.

  2. Enter Keywords in the text field.

    Search is not case sensitive. Use * (asterisk) wildcard only, for single terms (no quoted phrases). AND operator is implied between multiple terms; results will include all of the multiple terms. OR operator results will include either of the multiple terms.

  3. Select an Application from the drop-down.
  4. Select My Company's Role from the drop-down.
  5. Select a Linked Entity Type from the drop-down.

    Only displays if My Company's Role is Partner.

  6. Select Search.

    The results display in the table.

  • Select the View Company Members icon in the Actions column.

    The Company Members screen displays.

Only the Owner's internal locations can be linked as Partners to Smart Inventory Tracker.

  • Select the Configure Location icon in the Actions column for a Smart Inventory Tracker app where My Company's Role is Partner and the Linked Entity Type is Location.

Only the Owner's internal locations can be linked as Partners to Smart Inventory Tracker.

  • Select the Configure Printing icon in the Actions column for a Smart Inventory Tracker app where My Company's Role is Partner and the Linked Entity Type is Location.

    Smart Inventory Tracker Managers must also belong to the location's link to Serial Number Exchange to access this screen.

  • Select the View Company Members icon in the Actions column.

    The Company Members screen displays.

  • Select the Partners icon in the Actions column for any app where My Company's Role is Owner.

  1. Select the Request Master Data Reports icon in the Actions column for an India Compliance app where My Company's Role is Owner.

  2. Select the Product Master Data checkbox in the dialog box.
  3. Select Submit.

    The dialog box closes, and TraceLink begins asynchronously generating the report.

Confirm connectivity to the EU Hub before running the EU Certification Conformance Test.

This test validates EMVS certificates and tokens to ensure a successful connection to the EU Hub.

  • Select the corresponding Test Hub Connectivity icon in the Actions column of the Applications results table.
    • If successful, a "Success: You are connected to the EU Hub." confirmation displays at the top of the screen.
    • If the test fails, a "Connection Failure: Contact your TraceLink representative to assist with your configuration to the EU Hub." error message displays at the top of the screen.
  1. Select the Send Master Data to Hub icon in the Actions column for an EU Compliance app where My Company's Role is Owner.

    The Send Master Data to Hub? dialog box displays.

  2. Select the Yes in the dialog box.

    The dialog box closes, and TraceLink submits the company's master data to the EU Hub.

  • Select the Configure Company icon in the Actions column for a Smart Inventory Tracker app where My Company's Role is Owner.

  • Select the Set Data List Values icon in the Actions column for a Change Management or Supplier Issue Tracking app where My Company's Role is Owner.

  1. Select the Import Supplier Names icon in the Actions column for a Change Management app where My Company's Role is Owner.

    The Import Suppliers dialog box displays.

  2. Select Choose File.
  3. Browse for the desired CSV File.
  4. Select Submit.

    The dialog box closes, and TraceLink saves the imported supplier names.

  • Select the Export Supplier Names icon in the Actions column for a Change Management app where My Company's Role is Owner.

    The file downloads directly from the screen.

  • Select the Export Site List icon in the Actions column for a Supplier Issue Tracking app where My Company's Role is Owner.

    The file downloads directly from the screen.
