Pack and Repack How-Tos

• Serial numbers must be "Commissioned" and have one of the following states before aggregating:

  • Available

  • Picked

  • Blocked

1. Select the Pack and Repack option on the left.
2. Select the Aggregate Items to Container link.

   The Aggregate Items to Container screen displays.

3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
4. Enter the serial number of the pallet, case/shipper, or innerpack/bundle that the items are being aggregated into in the Container Serial Number field.

5. Enter the Child Serial Numbers being aggregated into the container by selecting one of the following:

   • Select Upload Serial Numbers from File:
     1. Select the Choose File button.
     2. Browse for and select the desired CSV file.

     The CSV file must be smaller than 50MB and cannot contain headers. Only 1 file can be uploaded per session.

     or

   • Select Scan Serial Numbers:
     • Enter the serial numbers in the text field (limit of 30,000 characters).

       or

     • Scan the serial numbers in the text field (limit of 30,000 characters) with an Edge device.

6. Deselect the Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox to perform the aggregation even if some of the Child Serial Numbers are already aggregated to a container.

   The Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox is selected by default (TraceLink does not perform the aggregation if some of the specified Child Serial Numbers are already aggregated to a container).

7. Select the Submit button.

   The screen refreshes with the confirmation message "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been aggregated to container [Container Serial Number]."

Serial Number Format Requirements:

When scanning, entering, or uploading a file to populate serial numbers, each number must be:

• On a separate row.
• Without any special characters.
• In one of the following formats:
  • SGTIN Serial Numbers
    • Used for:
      • Items
      • Innerpacks
      • Bundles
      • Cases and Shippers
    • The format is the AI(01)(21) serial number in barcode format:
      1. First is the 01 Application Identifier
      2. Followed by the GTIN-14 number
      3. Followed by the 21 Application Identifier
      4. Followed by the serial number

         Example: 010088202401033921725368249416

  • SSCC Serial Numbers
    • Used for:
      • Pallets
      • Mixed cases
    • The format is the AI(00) serial number in barcode format:
      1. First is the 00 Application Identifier
      2. Followed by the SSCC-18 code

         Example: 00008820200000050254

  • China EDMC Codes
    • Used for:
      • Items
      • Innerpacks
      • Bundles
      • Cases and Shippers
    • The format is the full 20-digit China serial number, e.g. 81102302020117515452.

1. Select the Pack and Repack option on the left.
2. Select the Reset Container Aggregation link.

   The Reset Container Aggregation screen displays.

3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
4. Enter the serial number of the pallet, case/shipper, or innerpack/bundle that all items currently in the container will be disaggregated from in the Container Serial Number field.
5. Enter the Child Serial Numbers for the new items being aggregated into the container by selecting one of the following:
   • Select Upload Serial Numbers from File:
     1. Select the Choose File button.
     2. Browse for and select the desired CSV file.

        The CSV file must be smaller than 50MB and cannot contain headers.

   • Select Scan Serial Numbers:
     • Enter the serial numbers in the text field (limit of 30,000 characters).

       or

     • Scan the serial numbers in the text field (limit of 30,000 characters) with an Edge device.

6. Deselect the Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox to perform the aggregation even if some of the Child Serial Numbers are already aggregated to a container.

   The screen refreshes with the confirmation message "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been disaggregated from container [Container Serial Number]."

1. Select the Pack and Repack option on the left.
2. Select the Replace Item in Container link.

   The Replace Item in Container screen displays.

3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
4. Enter the Original Serial Number to disaggregate it from the parent container.

   The Original Serial Number is decommissioned when a container is successfully relabeled.

5. Enter the Replacement Serial Number to aggregate it to the new parent serial number.

6. Deselect the Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox to perform the aggregation even if some of the Child Serial Numbers are already aggregated to a container.

   The Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox is selected by default (TraceLink does not perform the aggregation if some of the specified Child Serial Numbers are already aggregated to a container).

7. Select the Submit button.

   The screen refreshes with the confirmation message "Serial number [original serial number] has been disaggregated from its container and [replacement serial number] has been aggregated to the container."

   TraceLink updates the serial number status, item status, and item attributes for the container, child, and sub-child items.

5. Select the Decommission container(s) if empty after operation is performed checkbox to decommission parent containers that become empty after their child serial numbers are disaggregated (optional).
6. Select the Submit button. If the operation is successful:
   • TraceLink updates the serial number status, item status, and item attributes for the container, child, and sub-child items.
   • One of the following messages displays:
     • If the Decommission container(s) if empty after operation is performed checkbox is not selected or no containers were decommissioned: "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been disaggregated from their container(s)."
     • If the Decommission container(s) if empty after operation is performed checkbox is selected and one or more containers were decommissioned: "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been disaggregated from their container(s) and [Number of Decommissioned] container(s) have been decommissioned."
   • The Disaggregate Items screen displays, ready for the next disaggregation event.

5. Select the Decommission container if empty after operation is performed checkbox to decommission the parent container if it becomes empty after its child serial numbers are disaggregated (optional).
6. Select the Submit button. If the operation is successful:
   • TraceLink updates the serial number status, item status, and item attributes for the container, child, and sub-child items.
   • One of the following messages displays:
     • If the Decommission container if empty after operation is performed checkbox is not selected or the container was not decommissioned: "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been disaggregated from their container(s)."
     • If the Decommission container if empty after operation is performed checkbox is selected and the container was decommissioned: "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been disaggregated from their container(s) and [Number of Decommissioned] container(s) have been decommissioned."
   • The Disaggregate Items from Container screen displays, ready for the next disaggregation event.

   The Disaggregate Container screen displays.

3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
4. Enter the Container Serial Number to disaggregate the child serial numbers from in the text field.
5. Select or deselect the Decommission container after function is performed checkbox.
6. Select the Submit button. If the operation is successful:
   • TraceLink updates the serial number status, item status, and item attributes for the container, child, and sub-child items.
   • One of the following messages display:
     • If the Decommission container after operation is performed checkbox is not selected: "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been disaggregated from their container(s)."
     • "The [Number of Child Numbers] serial number(s) you entered have been disaggregated from their container(s) and [Number of Decommissioned] container(s) have been decommissioned."
   • The Disaggregate Container screen displays, ready for the next disaggregation event.

1. Select the Pack and Repack option on the left.
2. Select the Re-label Container link.

   The Re-label Container screen displays.

3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
4. Enter the current serial number of the container that needs relabeling in the Original Serial Number field.

   The Original Serial Number is decommissioned when the container is successfully relabeled.

5. Enter the new serial number for the container in the New Serial Number field.
6. Select the Submit button.

   The screen refreshes with the confirmation message "The container originally numbered [original serial number] is now numbered [new serial number]. Serial number [original serial number] has been decommissioned."

   TraceLink updates the serial number status, item status, and item attributes for the container, child, and sub-child items.
