Relabel Container
Overview

Select the Pack and Repack drop-down in the left-hand panel.

Assign a new serial number to a container while preserving its existing aggregation hierarchy.
As additional products are added to a container, the type of serial number used by the container may also need to be changed. This function swaps the serial number on the container without changing the container's contents.
Getting Started

To expedite this action, have the serial numbers readily available for each container receiving a relabel.

When scanning, entering, or uploading a file to populate serial numbers, each number must be:
- On a separate row.
- Without any special characters.
- In one of the formats below:

- Innerpacks
- Bundles
- Cases and Shippers
The format is the AI(01)(21) serial number in barcode format:
- First is the 01 Application Identifier
- Followed by the GTIN-14 number
- Followed by the 21 Application Identifier
- Followed by the serial number

- Followed by the SSCC-18 code

Relabel Container

The screen refreshes with the confirmation message ""The container originally numbered [original serial number] is now numbered [new serial number]. Serial number [original serial number] has been decommissioned."
TraceLink updates the serial number status, item status, and item attributes for the container, child, and sub-child items.

Error Messages

Errors either display at the top of the screen or are found in Info Exchange (may vary):

Serial number [Serial Number] already has items aggregated to it and cannot be used to relabel another container. | The serial number already has children. |

Serial number [Serial Number] is not commissioned. | The serial number is not commissioned, which is a requirement of this function. |
Cannot aggregate serial number [Serial Number] with item state [Serial Number Status]. The item state must be Available, Blocked, or Picked. | The serial number is not in Available, Picked, or Blocked state, which is a requirement of this function. |
Cannot aggregate serial number [Serial Number] with UOM [PackagingLevelUOM] into serial number[ParentSerial] with UOM [PackagingLevelUOM]. | This error displays when there is an attempt to create an invalid packing hierarchy by aggregating container into a subordinate item. |
Cannot relabel the container because the new serial number <serial number> and the child serial number <serial number> currently have different statuses or would have different statuses after relabeling. Parent and child serial numbers cannot have different statuses. | The child serial number's current parent container has a status different from the new parent container, which is prohibited for this function. |
