Set prefixes for internal locations and Partners
Location prefixes display at the beginning of the packaging code portion of serial numbers. Setting a location prefix is an optional way for a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer to quickly view the company or location that produced the product. Only Serial Number Exchange Managers for the Owner can set prefixes.

- Hover over in the top left of any screen, and then select .
- In the Site Functions section, select .
- Locate the location or Partner in the Subscriber (i.e. Site) column.
- Enter the 1-4 digit prefix for the location in the Site Prefix column.
Prefixes are included in the generated serial numbers and must adhere to the template requirements (e.g. if the template for a packaging code assigned to the location only allows numbers, then the prefix cannot contain letters). The type of template determines how the prefix is integrated:
- For sequential serial number templates, the length of the entire serial number is increased.
- For random serial number templates, the length is configured in the template, so the number of unique serial numbers available decreases, because the unique identifier portion of the serial number must be shorter to accommodate the prefix.
- Select
The Packaging Functions screen displays, and the edits to the location prefixes are saved.
