Shipment Advice Overview (IDoc)

The Shipment Advice message is used by a CMO to communicate shipment information that groups one or more deliveries to a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer. It is generated from the transportation application in the CMO's SAP system after picking and packing and transmission of the Warehouse Ship Order Confirmation with packing aggregation.

The inbound Shipment Advice is sent to TraceLink by the CMO for forwarding to the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer. It is followed by an outbound Shipment Advice message that is sent to the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.

This message uses the Park and Retry functionality. If a prerequisite condition for this message has not been met, TraceLink stops processing the task, returns the task to the queue, and then tries to process the task again every 15 minutes for up to 49 hours.
