Owners can search for and view the high-level information about any messages generated by Serial Number Exchange packaging events.

View previous events

  1. Hover over Modules in the top left of any screen, and then select Serial Number Exchange.
  2. In the Go To drop-down in the top right, select Packaging Events Log.
  3. In the Search Criteria section, fill in one or more of the following fields to filter the results:
    1. Keywords field – Returns results that contain the entered Keywords in the Request ID, Sender ID, Country Drug Code, Lot Number, Reference Documents, or Status fields.
      Tips:
      • The search is not case sensitive.
      • Use an asterisk (*) wildcard only for single terms, rather than quoted phrases.
      • The search results include all entered words by default (i.e. an AND operator is implied).
      • Enter "OR" between words to search for one word or another.
    2. Occurred On Or After field – The date that the events occurred on or after.
    3. Occurred On Or Before field – The date that the events occurred on or before.
    4. Message Type drop-down – The type of packaging event:
      • All (default)
      • End of Batch – Communicates the quantity of serial numbers produced for a certain lot at the packaging location.
      • Production Order Created – Communicates that a production order has been created.
      • Production Order Withdrawn – Communicates that a production order has been withdrawn.
      • Serial Number Request Denied – Communicates that a serial number request is denied.
      • Serial Number Status Updated – Communicates that the status of serial numbers has been updated.
      • Serial Numbers Disaggregated – Communicates that serial numbers have been successfully disaggregated.
      • Serial Numbers Provisioned – Communicates that serial numbers have been successfully provisioned.
      • Serial Numbers Requested – Communicates that serial numbers are requested.
      • Serial Numbers Transferred – Communicates that serial numbers have been successfully requested to be transferred.
      • Serial Numbers Transferred Response – Communicates that serial numbers have been successfully delivered to the third-party printer.
      • Serial Numbers Used – Communicates that serial numbers have been commissioned successfully.

    5. Packaging Code field – The GTIN, NTIN, CN-Rescode, or GS1 Company Prefix assigned to a specific level of packaging.

    6. ServiceLink drop-down – Required. The Serial Number Exchange Link that includes the Owner and the company or location that requests or receives serial numbers.
    7. Serial Number State drop-down – The current serialization state of the serial number (available only if Message Type is Serial Numbers Used): 
      • Deactivated – The serial number is deactivated.
      • Decommissioned – The serial number is no longer associated with a packaging code, lot number, or expiration date.
      • Destroyed – The serial number is destroyed and cannot be recommissioned.
      • Encoded – The serial number is sent for pre-printing on the product labels after provisioning.
    8. Internal Material Number field – The manufacturer's internal system identifier for the product. Available only if Message Type is Serial Numbers Used.
  4. Select Search.

    The results display in the table.

    • ServiceLink – The Serial Number Exchange Link that includes the company that owns Serial Number Exchange and the Partner that requests or receives the serial numbers.
    • Message Type – The type of packaging event.
    • Request ID – The numeric identifier for the specific request. Displays only if Message Type is Serial Numbers Requested or Serial Numbers Transferred Response.
    • Packaging Code – The GTIN, NTIN, CN-Rescode, or GS1 Company Prefix assigned to the packaging level of the serial numbers.
    • Packaging Code Type – The type of packaging code (e.g. GTIN, NTIN, CN-Rescode).
      The Packaging Code Type column does not have a value if Message Type is Serial Number Status Updated and the new status is Deactivated, Decommissioned, or Destroyed.
    • Quantity – The amount of serial numbers processed for the selected packaging level.
    • Last Updated – The processing date and time and the name of the user that initiated the event. Displays as Info Exchange if the event is initiated by asynchronous message.

Tips

  • Select the link in the Message Type column to view its details.
  • Select Export Results to CSV to export a copy of the results table as a CSV file

Event details

Each message type displays specific fields for the event.

Select the Serial Numbers Requested, Serial Number Request Denied, or Serial Numbers Provisioned link in the Message Type column.

Message Information

  • Service Publisher – The company that owns the Serial Number Exchange app.
  • Message Type – Displays as Serial Numbers Requested, Serial Number Request Denied, or Serial Numbers Provisioned.
  • Request Date – The date the serial numbers are requested.
  • Response Date – The date the provisioner responds to the request.
  • Reference Documents – Any alternative documentation included in the original message.
  • Requester Name – The name  of the company that requests serial numbers.
  • Requester ID – The identifier of the company that requests serial numbers.
  • Provisioner Name – The name of the company that provisions the serial numbers.
  • Provisioner ID – The identifier of the company that provisions the serial numbers.
  • Request ID – The identifier that connects the request and response.

Request Information

  • Number Encoding – The encoding format of the serial numbers requested.
  • Identifier – The GTIN or NTIN that identifies the product.
  • Quantity Requested – The amount of serial numbers requested.

Response Information

  • If the Message Type is Serial Number Request Denied:
    • Quantity Provisioned – The amount of serial numbers provisioned.
    • Error Code – The code for the error.
    • Error Description – The reason the provision request is denied.
  • If the Message Type is Serial Number Provisioned:
    • Quantity Provisioned – The amount of serial numbers provisioned.
    • Serial Numbers – A link to download the list of serial numbers.
    • Starting Serial Number – The first serial number in the range. Displays only if the template that generated the serial numbers is a range.
    • Ending Serial Number – The last serial number in the range. Displays only if the template that generated the serial numbers is a range.

Tips

  • Select Download Serial Numbers to download the list of serial numbers.

Select the Serial Numbers Used link in the Message Type column of the results table.

Message Information

  • Service Publisher – The company that owns the Serial Number Exchange app.
  • Message Type – Displays as Serial Numbers Used.
  • Message Date – The date the message was sent.
  • Sender Name – The name of the company that sends the message.
  • Sender ID – The identifier of the company that sends the message.
  • Recipient Name – The name of the company that receives the message.
  • Recipient ID – The identifier of the company that receives the message.

  Repackage Commissioning Information

Displays only if the serial numbers are involved in a repackaging event.

  • Source Product Information – The information about the source product that is repackaged.
    • Item Code – The item code of the source product.
    • Quantity – The amount of serial numbers that were repackaged.
    • Lot Number – The lot number that the source product is associated with.
    • Expiration Date – The date that the source product expires.
  • Repackaged Product Information – The information about the final repackaged product.
    • Item Code – The item code of the final repackaged product.
    • Country Drug Code – The country drug code assigned to the product by the country where it is sold.
    • Description – The user-assigned description of the product (e.g. Migraine Med 30 MG Tabs 30).
    • Quantity – The amount of final repackaged serial numbers.
    • Lot Number – The lot number that the final repackaged products are associated with.
    • Expiration Date – The date that the product expires.
    • Date of Manufacture – The date the product is repackaged.

Commissioning Information

Displays only if the serial numbers are commissioned and includes up to 2,000 commissioning events per message.

  • Item Code – The item code of the commissioned serial numbers.
  • Country Drug Code – The country drug code assigned to the product by the country where it is sold.
  • Description – The user-assigned description of the product (e.g. Migraine Med 30 MG Tabs 30).
  • Quantity – The amount of serial numbers commissioned.
  • Lot Number – The lot number that the serial numbers are associated with.
  • Expiration Date – The date that the product expires.
  • Date of Manufacture – The date the product is manufactured.

Aggregation Information

Displays only if the one or more commissioned serial numbers have children aggregated.

  • Total Aggregation – The total number of containers with serial numbers aggregated.
  • Aggregation Information – A link to view detailed information about the aggregation hierarchy of the containers.

Tips

  • Select the View Hierarchy link in the Aggregation Information field to view the aggregation hierarchy for any containers commissioned.
    • Serial Number – The parent serial number.

      Select the link to view the next level of aggregation. If a serial number does not display as a link, then it does not have children aggregated to it.

    • Actual Barcode Content – The human-readable content of the barcode for the serial number.
    • Item Code – The item code of the commissioned serial numbers.
    • National Drug Code – The country drug code assigned to the product by the country where it is sold.
    • Description – The user-assigned description of the product (e.g. Migraine Med 30 MG Tabs 30).
    • Lot Number – The lot number that the serial numbers are associated with.
    • Expiration Date – The date that the product expires.
    • Date of Manufacture – The date the product is manufactured.
    • Commission Date – The date the product is commissioned.
    • Commission Location – The location where commissioning takes place.
    • Commission Line – The production line number where the product is commissioned.

Select the Serial Number Status Updated link in the Message Type column.

Message Information

  • Service Publisher – The company that owns the Serial Number Exchange app.
  • Message Type – Displays as Serial Number Status Updated.
  • Message Date – The date the message was sent.
  • Sender Name – The name of the company that sends the message.
  • Sender ID – The identifier of the company that sends the message.
  • Recipient Name – The name of the company that receives the message.
  • Recipient ID – The identifier of the company that receives the message.

Status Update Information

  • Packaging Code – The GTIN, NTIN, CN-Rescode, or GS1 Company Prefix assigned to the packaging level of the serial numbers.
  • Location SGLN – The SGLN of the commissioning location (e.g. 7654321.54321.0).
  • Production Line ID – The internal system identifier of the production line.
  • Line Manager Name – The name of the person who manages the production line.
  • Serial Number Status – The current serialization status of the serial number.
  • Status Change Reason – The description of why the serial number status is updated, with details.
  • Attributes – The reason the serial number status is updated. Displays only if the Serial Number Status is Decommissioned or Destroyed:
    • Sampled – The product is sampled for quality testing.
    • Expired – The product reached its expiration date.
    • Recalled – The product is recalled by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.
    • Damaged – The product is damaged.
  • Quantity – The amount of serial numbers with a status change.

Tips

  • Select Download Serial Numbers to download the serial numbers in the event.

Select the Serial Numbers Disaggregated link in the Message Type column.

Message Information

  • Service Publisher – The company that owns the Serial Number Exchange app.
  • Message Type – Displays as Serial Numbers Disaggregated.
  • Message Date – The date the message was sent.
  • Sender Name – The name of the company that sends the message.
  • Sender ID – The identifier of the company that sends the message.
  • Recipient Name – The name of the company that receives the message.
  • Recipient ID – The identifier of the company that receives the message.

Disaggregation Information

  • Disaggregated Items – The quantity of items disaggregated from top-level containers in the message.
  • Item Details – A link to view the details about the parent containers that were disaggregated.

Tips

  • To view the parent containers that were disaggregated, select the View Disaggregated Items link.
    • Serial Number – The parent serial number.
    • Actual Barcode Content – The human-readable content of the barcode for the serial number.
    • Item Code – The item code of the commissioned serial numbers.
    • National Drug Code – The country drug code assigned to the product by the country where it is sold.
    • Description – The user-assigned description of the product (e.g. Migraine Med 30 MG Tabs 30).
    • Lot Number – The lot number that the serial numbers are associated with.
    • Expiration Date – The date that the product expires.
    • Date of Manufacture – The date the product is manufactured.

    Tips

    • To view the items disaggregated from the container, select the Serial Number link.

      Disaggregation Information

      • Container Serial Number – The parent serial number.

      • Disaggregated Items – The quantity of items disaggregated from the parent container.

      • Disaggregation Date – The date that the items were disaggregated.
      • Disaggregation Location – The identifier of the location where items were disaggregated.

      • Serial Number – The parent serial number.

Transferred Serial Numbers Information

  • Packaging Code – The GTIN, NTIN, CN-Rescode, or GS1 Company Prefix assigned to the packaging level of the serial numbers.
  • Quantity – The quantity of serial numbers transferred.

Select the Production Order Created link in the Message Type column.

  • Service Publisher – The company that owns the Serial Number Exchange app.
  • Message Type – Displays as Production Order Created.
  • Message Date – The date the message was sent.
  • Sender Name – The name of the company that sends the message.
  • Sender ID – The identifier of the company that sends the message.
  • Recipient Name – The name of the company that receives the message.
  • Recipient ID – The identifier of the company that receives the message.

Batch Information

  • Batch Status – Indicates whether a lot is Active or Inactive.
  • Packaging Codes – Information about the serial numbers included in the lot:
    • Packaging Item Code – The GTIN, NTIN, CN-Rescode, or GS1 Company Prefix assigned to a specific level of packaging.
    • Packaging Level – The packaging level (i.e. unit of measure) for the items in the lot.
    • Quantity – The quantity of serial numbers expected for the packaging code in this lot.
  • Country Drug Code – The country drug code assigned to the product by the country where it is sold.
  • Country of Manufacture – The country that the product is produced in.
  • PO Number/Line – The purchase order and line number associated with the serial numbers.
  • Work Order Number – The unique identifier associated with the work order.
  • Reference Identifier – The internal business identifier.
  • Internal Material Number – The manufacturer's internal system identifier for the product.
  • Lot Number – The lot or batch number associated with the serial numbers being commissioned.
  • Expiration Date – The date that the product expires.
  • Manufacturing Date – The date the product is manufactured.
  •  Export To Market – The details of a product that is being exported:
    • Export To Country Code – The country code of the export market.
    • Target Market Exemption – Indicates whether the product is exempt from the export market's regulatory compliance:
      • Yes – The product is exempt from the export market's regulatory compliance.
      • No – The product is not exempt from the export market's regulatory compliance.
    • Exemption Reference ID – The ID number for the exemption.
    • Exemption Reference Date – The date for the exception.
  • Unit Price – The current price of the product.

Tips

  • To withdraw a production order, select Withdraw Production Order. The Create Production Order screen displays with the fields populated and the Status set to Withdrawn.

Select the End of Batch link in the Message Type column of the results table.

  • Product Description – The user-assigned description of the product (e.g. Migraine Med 30 MG Tabs 30).
  • Internal Material Number – The manufacturer's internal system identifier for the product.
  • Country Drug Code – The country drug code assigned to the product by the country where it is sold.
  • Lot Number – The lot or batch number associated with the serial numbers.
  • Expiration Date – The date that the product expires.
  • PO Number – The purchase order associated with the serial numbers.
  • Production Date – The date the product is created.
  • Packaging Site Name – The name of the location where the product is packaged.
  • Packaging Site ID – The identifier of the packaging location.
  • Production Line ID – The internal system identifier of the production line.

Commission Quantity Verification

  • Packaging Item Code – The GTIN, NTIN, or CN-Rescode assigned to a specific level of packaging.
  • Packaging Level – The packaging level (i.e. unit of measure) for the items in the lot.
  • Quantity Reported – The amount of serial numbers reported for the packaging code in this lot.
  • Quantity Commissioned – The amount of serial numbers commissioned for the packaging code in this lot.
  • Result – Indicates whether Quantity Reported matches Quantity Commissioned.
    • Success – The Quantity Reported is consistent with the Quantity Commissioned.
    • Error – The Quantity Reported is not consistent with the Quantity Commissioned.

Batch Threshold Verification

  • Quantity Commissioned – The percentage of serial numbers in the lot that are commissioned.
  • Max Batch Size – The fullest possible yield that the manufacturing location can produce with the raw materials provided.
  • Acceptable Yield – The target percentage of the yield that the manufacturing location should produce from the raw material.
  • Minimum Yield – The minimum percentage of the yield that the manufacturing location can produce from the raw material.
  • Result – Indicates whether the lot met the manufacturing thresholds:
    • Accepted – The lot meets all requirements and has been accepted.
    • Rejected – The lot does not meet the requirements and is not accepted.
