Communicate production status APIs

Production status messages allow manufacturing locations to communicate the status of a lot’s production from its request to its completion or cancellation. Companies can also configure Product Master Data so that TraceLink uses these messages to compare fulfilled production reports to the intended production details.

Production Order (TraceLink XML)

Pharmaceutical Manufacturers use this message to provide the production details for a planned lot. It can also communicate the cancellation of a previously ordered lot that was not produced or rejected for quality after its production.

End of Batch (TraceLink XML)

Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and CMOs use this message at the end of production to confirm that the packaging line system correctly fulfilled a production request. TraceLink validates the quantity of serial numbers reported in this message against data received from the commissioning events in prior messages or the Web UI.

If the batch yield parameters are configured in Product Master Data, TraceLink generates a Document of Serialization (DOS) report. If the quantity of commissioned serial numbers reported in this message matches the expected range of lot quantities, TraceLink automatically accepts the DOS report. If validation fails, the DOS report remains in Pending Review, and companies can manually accept the report in the Serial Number Exchange Web UI.

Tips:

  • Companies can opt into receiving email notifications when this message fails. See the Settings Online Help for more information.
  • This message uses the Park and Retry functionality. If Tracelink detects that the serial numbers included have not been provisioned yet, TraceLink stops processing the message, returns the message to the queue, and then tries to process the message again every 15 minutes for up to 4 hours.
