API features

Multienterprise Process Connect, version 2024.3.0

The following new or updated API functionality is included in this release.

Send and Receive Forecast Plans in X12 and IDoc Formats

Companies that own or link to Multienterprise Process Connect can exchange forecast plans with their Partners via TraceLink in X12 and IDoc format. Exchanging forecast plans asynchronously via Multienterprise Process Connect allows buyers to send suppliers advanced notice about their anticipated product quantity needs for an upcoming period of time. Communicating with supply chain partners about anticipated product needs enables suppliers to adjust their plans accordingly to meet the buyer's anticipated demand. Exchanging information about projected product demand and supply availability also allows both parties to manage their supply chains more effectively and efficiently. For example, a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer can send a forecast plan to their CMO letting them know how much of each product they expect to need in the next quarter, and this enables the CMO to adjust their business accordingly to meet the expected demand from the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.

Additionally, sending and receiving forecast plans asynchronously via Multienterprise Process Connect enables companies and their Partners to search for, view, and troubleshoot those messages, leverage a record of their forecast plans for business records or compliance purposes, and retrieve the input, output, and canonical files for a forecast plan using the Search Messages screen in the Multienterprise Information Network Tower solution Web UI.

The following new messages are available for sending or receiving forecast plans in this release:

  • X12 (inbound):
    • B2B_EDI_X12_830_ForecastPlan_IB_V1
  • IDoc (outbound):

Send and Receive Forecast Plan Responses in IDoc and X12 Formats

Companies that own or link to Multienterprise Process Connect can exchange forecast plan responses with their Partners via TraceLink in IDoc and X12 format. Exchanging forecast plan responses asynchronously via Multienterprise Process Connect allows suppliers to respond to buyers' advanced notice about their anticipated product quantity needs for an upcoming period of time. Exchanging information with downstream supply chain Partners about their anticipated product needs enables suppliers to communicate their ability to meet the anticipated demand of the buyers and, if needed, adjust their plans to meet the anticipated demand. Exchanging information about projected product demand and supply availability also helps both parties to manage their supply chains more effectively and efficiently. For example, a CMO can send a forecast plan response to a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer letting them know which of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer's anticipated product needs they expect to be able to fulfill in the next quarter, enabling the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer to adjust their business accordingly to meet their expected supply.

Additionally, sending and receiving forecast plan responses asynchronously via Multienterprise Process Connect enables companies and their Partners to search for, view, and troubleshoot those messages, leverage a record of their forecast plan responses for business records or compliance purposes, and retrieve the input, output, and canonical files for a forecast plan response using the Search Messages screen in the Multienterprise Information Network Tower solution Web UI.
