TraceLink Roles
Owner
Owners are Members who purchase a TraceLink app on the TraceLink Network. Owners establish a shared working space with other Members on the TraceLink Network through a Link within each app instance.
Partner
Partners are Members on the TraceLink Network (e.g. a company, location, or user) with an established Link to an Owner's app.
If the Partner happens to be an entity of the Owner's company (e.g. an internal location), that is considered an Internal Partner.
Use Cases
Functions within Master Data Exchange
Company Master Data
- Establish information about the main entity for the company.
- Set up functional or physical subdivisions of the company as company locations.
- Define identifiers for the company and its locations that other apps call on for more details.
- Enhance the display of data in the user interface to provide additional detail and context for the data (e.g. business name, address, product description associated with identifiers).
Partner Master Data
- Enhance the display of data in the user interface to provide additional detail and context for the data (e.g. business name, address, product description associated with identifiers).
- Configure trade partners and their locations as Partners (e.g. packaging locations in Serial Number Manager).
- Cross reference and populate data fields during messages and compliance reporting that may require additional information.
- Report government compliance information in countries that require submission of Partner Master Data reports.
Product Master Data
- Cross reference and populate data fields during messages and compliance reporting that may require additional information.
- Generate End of Batch (EoB) notifications and Documents of Serialization (DoS) based on Batch Yield Parameter information.
- Enhance the display of data in the user interface to provide additional detail and context for the data (e.g. business name, address, product description associated with identifiers).
- Provide product-related data for serialization management.
- Report government compliance information in countries that require submission of Product Master Data reports (e.g. EU, India).
