911 - Unit Pack and 914 - Unit Append

Russia Compliance Owners generate one of the following reports when aggregating items to a parent container in Serialized Operations Manager or Smart Inventory Tracker:

  • 911 - Unit Pack – Captures the initial aggregation of items to a new parent container (i.e. the parent container has not been previously reported in another 911 - Unit Pack or 915 - Multi Pack report).
  • 914 - Unit Append – Captures the addition of items to a parent container after initial aggregation is reported in a 911 - Unit Pack or 915 - Multi Pack report.

Configuring the reports

  1. Hover over Company Administration on the User Profile drop-down in the top right of any screen, and then select Workflow.
  2. Select the Generate 911 - Unit Pack and 914 - Unit Append Reports Resulting Actions checkbox for the Aggregation of Units into Container workflow Event.
  3. Select Save in the top left of the screen, above the results table.

    The screen refreshes, and the workflow is enabled.

The Russia Compliance application generates the 911 - Unit Pack or 914 - Unit Append report when TraceLink processes an Aggregation of Units into Container event from Serialized Operations Manager (including Smart Inventory Tracker integrated with Serialized Operations Manager) and the products have a Target Market of Russia. The Aggregation of Units into Container event workflow verifies with MDLP whether the SSCC included in the event has already been reported. If the SSCC has not yet been reported, the Russia Compliance app generates the 911 - Unit Pack report. If the SSCC has already been reported, the Russia Compliance app generates the 914 - Unit Append report.

Generating the reports in the Web UI

  1. Hover over Modules, and then select Serialized Operations Manager.
  2. Expand the Pack and Repack drop-down and then select Aggregate Items to Container.
  3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
  4. Enter the serial number of the pallet, case/shipper, or innerpack/bundle that the items are being aggregated into in the Container Serial Number field.
  5. Enter the Child Serial Numbers being aggregated into the container by selecting one of the following:
    • Select Upload Serial Numbers from File:
      1. Select Choose File.
      2. Browse for and select the desired CSV file.
        3. The CSV file must be smaller than 50MB and cannot contain headers. Only 1 file can be uploaded per session.

      or

    • Select Scan Serial Numbers:
      • Enter the serial numbers (limit of 30,000 characters).

        or

      • Scan the serial numbers (limit of 30,000 characters) with an external scanner.
  6. Deselect the Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox to perform the aggregation even if some of the Child Serial Numbers are already aggregated to a container.
  7. Select Submit.

    The serial numbers are aggregated to the parent container.

Replace all items in a container by disaggregating the current items and then aggregating a new set of items. If the items being disaggregated have a Russia target market, this action also initiates the 913 - Unit Extract report.

  1. Hover over Modules, and then select Serialized Operations Manager.
  2. Expand the Pack and Repack drop-down and then select Reset Container Aggregation.
  3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
  4. Enter the Container Serial Number that all items will be disaggregated from.
  5. Enter the Child Serial Numbers for the new items being aggregated into the container by selecting one of the following:
    • Select Upload Serial Numbers from File:
      1. Select Choose File.
      2. Browse for and select the desired CSV file.
        3. The CSV file must be smaller than 50MB and cannot contain headers. Only 1 file can be uploaded per session.

      or

    • Select Scan Serial Numbers:
      • Enter the serial numbers (limit of 30,000 characters).

        or

      • Scan the serial numbers (limit of 30,000 characters) with an external scanner.
  6. Deselect the Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox to perform the aggregation even if some of the Child Serial Numbers are already aggregated to a container.
  7. Select Submit.

    The serial numbers previously aggregated to the container are disaggregated and replaced with the new children.

Disaggregate a serial number from a container and aggregate a new serial number to the container in its place (e.g. if the product is damaged during packaging or warehouse operations). If the item being disaggregated has a Russia target market, this action also initiates the 913 - Unit Extract report.

  1. Hover over Modules, and then select Serialized Operations Manager.
  2. Expand the Pack and Repack drop-down and then select Replace Item in Container.
  3. Select the manufacturing location that provisioned the serial numbers from the Show Data From drop-down in the upper right.
  4. Enter the Original Serial Number to disaggregate it from the parent container.

    The Original Serial Number is decommissioned when a container is successfully relabeled.

  5. Enter the Replacement Serial Number to aggregate it to the new parent serial number.
  6. Deselect the Do not perform operation if any child items are aggregated to another container checkbox to perform the aggregation even if some of the child serial numbers are already aggregated to a container.
  7. Select Submit.

    The original serial number is disaggregated from the container and the replace serial number is aggregated.

Generating the reports on a mobile device

The parent container must already exist in Serialized Operations Manager.

  1. Open the Smart Inventory Tracker app on the mobile device.
  2. Select the Options icon at the top of any screen.
  3. Select Manage Containers.
  4. Select Existing Container.

  5. Enter the Parent Serial Number for the existing parent container:

    • Scan the barcode.

      or

    • Enter the serial number manually and select Submit.

  6. Enter the Child Serial Number to aggregate to the Parent Serial Number:

    • Scan the barcode.

      or

    • Enter the serial number manually and select the Submit icon.

    • Product – Displays the packaging code associated with the serial number. Mixed displays for SSCCs with multiple lot numbers or no lot number defined.

    • Lot – The batch or lot number associated with the product.Mixed displays for SSCCs with multiple lot numbers or no lot number defined.
    • Expiry – The expiration date associated with the serial number's lot.Mixed displays for SSCCs with multiple lot numbers or no lot number defined.
    • Child Count – The number of child items currently aggregated to the parent container, which updates as children are scanned.

  7. Repeat the previous step for any other serial numbers that need to be aggregated to the Parent Serial Number.

  8. Select Submit.

    Submit might be disabled because the contents of the parent container do not match expectations.

    If the parent serial number is an SSCC or an SGTIN that contains the expected number of children, Smart Inventory Tracker sends the serial numbers to Serialized Operations Manager, which aggregates child serial numbers that were added to the parent container.

    If child serial numbers added to the parent container were already aggregated to another parent container, Serialized Operations Manager also disaggregates those child serial numbers from the initial parent container before aggregating them to the new parent container.

    If any child serial numbers are disaggregated from another parent container the 913 - Unit Extract report is also generated.

Tips

  • To revert the aggregation of a child serial number, scan or enter the number again.
  • To remove all child serial numbers from the parent serial number, select Remove All.
  • To view a list of the Products (designated by packaging code), Lots, and Quantities contained within the parent serial number, select Products.
  • To view all child serial numbers contained within the parent serial number, select Serial Numbers.
  • To cancel the update, select the Cancel icon in the upper right, and select Yes in the dialog box. Smart Inventory Tracker removes all serial numbers from the update queue.
  • For smartphone users, Smart Inventory Tracker automatically opens the camera to scan barcodes.
    • Select the Close icon to disable the camera.
    • Select the Open icon to enable the camera.
  1. Open the Smart Inventory Tracker app on the mobile device.
  2. Select the Options icon at the top of any screen.
  3. Select Manage Containers.
  4. Select New SSCC.
  5. Select a Company Prefix to define the template for the new serial number.
  6. Select the Packaging UOM of the new serial number:
    • Pallet – Cases grouped together on a pallet.
    • Case / Shipper – A grouping of inner packs/bundles or a grouping of eaches if the packaging hierarchy does not include inner packs/bundles.
    • Inner Pack / Bundle – A grouping of eaches (i.e. lowest saleable units).
  7. Select Scan Children.
  8. Enter the Child Serial Number to aggregate to the new SSCC parent container:
    • Scan the barcode.

      or

    • Enter the serial number manually and select the Submit icon.

    • Product – Displays the packaging code associated with the serial number. Mixed displays for SSCCs with multiple lot numbers or no lot number defined.

    • Lot – The batch or lot number associated with the product.Mixed displays for SSCCs with multiple lot numbers or no lot number defined.
    • Expiry – The expiration date associated with the serial number's lot.Mixed displays for SSCCs with multiple lot numbers or no lot number defined.
    • Child Count – The number of child items currently aggregated to the parent container, which updates as children are scanned.
  9. Repeat the previous step for any other serial numbers that need to be aggregated to the new SSCC parent container.
  10. If the company allows the warehouse operator to enter specific information for the parent serial number's label:
    1. Select Additional Fields.
    2. Enter the information requested by a Manager (optional).
    3. Select Save.
  11. Select Submit.
    Submit might be disabled because the contents of the parent container do not match expectations.
  12. Select the Printer to send the serial number and associated information to.
  13. Select Yes.

    TraceLink provisions the new serial number with Serial Number Exchange using the appropriate serial number template. Smart Inventory Tracker sends the new serial number and any required master data elements to the external printer application configured for the device's location.

  14. Scan the printed Serial Number to confirm that the label printed correctly.

    Smart Inventory Tracker sends the serial numbers to Serialized Operations Manager, which commissions the new SSCC parent container and aggregates child serial numbers that were added to the parent container.

    If the child serial numbers were already aggregated to another parent container, Serialized Operations Manager also disaggregates those child serial numbers from the initial parent container before aggregating them to the new parent container.

    If any child serial numbers are disaggregated from another parent container the 913 - Unit Extract report is also generated.

Compliance report details

  • Report Date – The date and time that the report generated.
  • Report ID – The report's MDLP document ID.
  • Report Type – 911 - Unit Pack.

Select View Event via Info Exchange to view the message for the event that generated the report.

  • Aggregating Party ID – The identifier of the location that aggregated the items.
  • Aggregating Party Name – The name of the location that aggregated the items, sourced from Company Master Data (this information displays but is not reported).
  • Aggregation Date – The date that the items are aggregated.
  • Container Serial Number – The parent container that the items are aggregated to.
  • Quantity – The quantity of serial numbers aggregated to the parent container.

Select Download Serial Numbers to download the child serial numbers that are reported as aggregated.

  • Response Received – The date and time that TraceLink received a response message from MDLP.
  • Response Type – The response code from MDLP.
  • Status – The status of the report with MDLP.
  • Error Code – The error code returned by MDLP, if applicable.
  • Error Description – The description of the associated Error Code.
  • Report Date – The date and time that the report generated.
  • Report Type – 914 - Unit Append.

Select View Event via Info Exchange to view the message for the event that generated the report.
