Aggregate and disaggregate containers

Owners aggregate and disaggregate commissioned serial numbers into or out of a parent container to manage parent-child relationships and the changes that occur while packing and repacking product.

Aggregate items to a container

  1. Hover over Modules in the top left of any screen, and then select Serial Number Exchange.
  2. In the Assignment Functions section, select Aggregate Numbers.
  3. In the 1. Select ServiceLink section, fill in the following field:
    • ServiceLink drop-down – Required. The Serial Number Exchange Link that includes the Owner and the company or location that requests or receives serial numbers.
  4. In the 2. Enter Aggregation Information section, fill in the following fields:
    1. Location SGLN field – The SGLN of the commissioning location (e.g. 7654321.54321.0).
    2. Container Serial Number field – Required. The serial number of the parent container.
  5. In the 3. Specify the Child Serial Numbers section:
    • Select the Upload Serial Numbers radio button.
      1. Select Choose File.
      2. Browse for and select the desired .csv or .txt file.

      or

    • Select the Scan Serial Numbers radio button and scan serial numbers.
      • Enter the serial numbers manually.

        or

      • Scan the serial numbers with an Edge device.
  6. Deselect Repeat Function After Submit to display the Packaging Events Log after selecting Submit.
  7. Select Submit.

    TraceLink begins processing the aggregation request. When complete, any changes applied to the parent container are also applied to the child serial numbers within it. Completed requests display in the Packaging Events Log.

    • If the Repeat Function After Submit checkbox is selected, the screen refreshes.
    • If the Repeat Function After Submit checkbox is not selected, the Packaging Events Log screen displays.

Disaggregate items from a container

  1. Hover over Modules in the top left of any screen, and then select Serial Number Exchange.
  2. In the Assignment Functions section, select Disaggregate Numbers.
  3. In the 1. Select ServiceLink section, fill in the following field:
    • ServiceLink drop-down – Required. The Serial Number Exchange Link that includes the Owner and the company or location that requests or receives serial numbers.
  4. In the 2. Enter Disaggregation Information section, fill in the following fields:
    1. Location SGLN field – The SGLN of the commissioning location (e.g. 7654321.54321.0).
    2. Container Serial Number field – Required. The serial number of the parent container.

  5. In the 3. Specify the Child Serial Numbers section:

    • Select the Upload Serial Numbers radio button.
      1. Select Choose File.
      2. Browse for and select the desired .csv or .txt file.

    • Select the Scan Serial Numbers radio button and scan serial numbers.
      • Enter the serial numbers manually.

        or

      • Scan the serial numbers with an Edge device.
  6. Deselect Repeat Function After Submit to display the Packaging Events Log after selecting Submit (optional).
  7. Select Submit.

    TraceLink begins processing the disaggregation request. When complete, any changes applied to the parent container no longer apply to the child serial numbers removed. Completed requests display in the Packaging Events Log.

    • If the Repeat Function After Submit checkbox is selected, the screen refreshes.
    • If the Repeat Function After Submit checkbox is not selected, the Packaging Events Log screen displays.
