Commission and aggregate serial number APIs

Commission and aggregation messages allow companies to communicate the status of serial numbers with respect to their associated product or container. Until a serial number is commissioned, it does not represent a physical good or container. Aggregation associates child products with a parent at a higher packaging level (e.g. inner pack, case, pallet). TraceLink maintains aggregation hierarchy along the supply chain, so that once a product is aggregated, the status of its container is applied to every child item.

Disposition Assigned

Owners and Partners usually use this message to send commission and aggregation information about a pallet or case. Repackagers or Parallel Importers can also use this message to report repackaging activity. Each message must include only one lot.

This message uses the Park and Retry functionality. If Tracelink detects that the serial numbers included have not been provisioned yet, TraceLink stops processing the message, returns the message to the queue, and then tries to process the message again every 15 minutes for up to 4 hours.
