Request Serial Number Verification

Overview

Select the Serial Number Verification button on the Search Compliance Reports screen.

Request information from the EU Hub to confirm that a returned product is valid and can be restocked. The EU Hub sends a Serial Number Verification report with the product information, which can be compared against the items on hand.

Only products that will be returned to the inventory require verification. If the product is being destroyed, there is no need to verify it.

Product Identifier Information

  • Product Identifier Information - Options for specifying serial numbers:
    • Scan Data Matrix Bar Codes - Scan a barcode with an Edge scanner.

      • Barcode must include [GTIN] [Serial Number] [Lot Number] [Expiration Date], and the scanner must support the ASCII-232 character as well as the ASCII-29 or ASCII-173 characters.

    • Upload From File - Upload product information from a CSV file. Format is the human-readable barcode, including the delimiter ASCII characters (e.g. [Delimiter] [Product Code] [Serial Number] [Delimiter] [Lot Number] [Delimiter] [Expiration Date]).

      The file type must be .csv or .txt, cannot contain headers, and product information must be in a single column, one per row with no commas.

    • Enter Information - Manually enter product information:

      Enter the product information only, omitting any delimiter ASCII characters.

      • Product Code - The product code value (e.g. 04425678663894).
      • Serial Number - The serial number associated with the product.
      • Lot Number - The lot or batch number associated with the serial numbers.
      • Expiration Date - The batch expiration date of the serialized items in the lot.

Available Actions

  1. Specify Product Identifier Information by selecting one of the following:
    • Select Scan Data Matrix Bar Codes.
      • Manually scan serial numbers into the text field.
    • Select Upload From File.
      • Select the Choose File button.
      • Browse for and select the desired CSV file.
    • Select Enter Information.
      1. Enter the Product Code in the text field.
      2. Enter the Serial Number in the text field.
      3. Enter the Lot Number in the text field.
      4. Select the Expiration Date from the date picker.
  2. Select the Submit button.

    The Search Compliance Reports screen displays with the confirmation message "Your request for serial number verification has been submitted to the EU Hub."

    The response can be searched for in the Search Compliance Reports screen.
