TraceLink Roles

TraceLink API Guides group messages by application. Each API Guide contains all messages available within that application. Your company's business type (e.g. CMO, Wholesale Distributor, 3PL) and role in the TraceLink Network (Owner or Partner1) determine which of these messages to develop (i.e. not all messages within this guide may fulfill your business or compliance needs).

Serial Number Manager Owners

Pharmaceutical Manufacturers receive the Serial Number Manager Request message from TraceLink to populate Serial Number Manager.
A successful request for Russia serial numbers returns the corresponding crypto key and crypto code attributes for each serial number.
Pharmaceutical Manufacturers use the Serial Number Manager Response message to provide TraceLink with serial numbers that are generated outside of the TraceLink system.
A successful response for Russia serial numbers returns the corresponding crypto key and crypto code attributes for each serial number.

Serial Number Manager Partners

Pharmaceutical Manufacturers receive the Serial Number Manager Request message from a CMO Owner to request serial numbers.
A successful request for Russia serial numbers returns the corresponding crypto key and crypto code attributes for each serial number.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturers use the Serial Number Manager Response message to provide a CMO Owner with serial numbers that are generated outside of the TraceLink system. CMOs apply these serial numbers to products that they manufacture on behalf of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.
