SOP Evaluations
In regulated pharmaceutical and life sciences supply chains, SOP Evaluation is a documented process used to assess, align, review, and approve a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) so it supports standardized work practices and compliance requirements.
What is an SOP Evaluation
The SOP Evaluation process is used to assess and align an SOP so that it clearly defines how employees should perform specific, complex, or routine tasks safely, consistently, and effectively. SOP Evaluations help standardize work practices, support compliance with regulatory and quality standards, and clarify roles, resources, expectations, and required outcomes.
SOP Evaluations are managed as work items and are used to evaluate and track SOPs through their lifecycle. When collaboration with a Partner organization is required, users can create a Review & Testing record. Review & Testing records are maintained separately as list entries and are used to capture review activities, testing outcomes, and partner feedback. Each component has its own navigation tab and search page, allowing users to independently manage evaluations and review activities while maintaining the relationship between them.
Advantages of SOP Evaluations
-
Standardization: Helps teams follow consistent, documented SOP-related practices.
-
Compliance: Ensure SOPs support regulatory and quality requirements.
-
Role Clarity: Clarifies responsibilities for initiators, assignees, SOP owners, and SME leads.
-
Structured Lifecycle: Initiated when environmental or operational excursions occur.
-
Risk Visibility: Supports evaluation of risks, success criteria, and regulatory impact before implementation.
