Review Info Exchange messages

Use the Review Info Exchange Messages menu item to view the Info Exchange messages for Track & Trace Services sent between the Owner's internal locations and external Partners, including government systems (e.g. messages sent from TraceLink to the EU Hub for EU Compliance).

The data in Review Info Exchange Messages can be useful for completing certain supply chain tasks:

  • Business relationship tasks:
    • View information about Info Exchange messages sent between the Owner's internal locations or external Partners.
    • Understand which internal locations and external Partners take specific actions frequently (e.g. which Partners send the most shipments).
  • Troubleshooting tasks:
    • Troubleshoot failed Info Exchange messages.
    • Retrieve Info Exchange message data over a range of 1 year.

View a summary of messages

The message summary view shows the most important information about Info Exchange messages sent by the Owner and their Partners. Use this view to locate important information about messages (e.g. all messages with a Processing Status of Map In Failed).

  1. Select the Main Menu icon .

  2. Select Serialized Product Intelligence.

  3. Select Review Info Exchange Messages in the side menu.

    The message summary view displays by default with the Dashboard View icon selected in the upper right.

    • Last Week (default) – View data from the last 7 days.
    • Last Month – View data from the last 30 days.
    • Last 3 Months – View data from the last 90 days.
    • Last 6 Months – View data from the last 180 days.
    • Custom Range – View data from a specified time period (maximum range of one year).
  2.  Select Show Additional Filters and fill in the following fields to further filter the results:
    1. Filter Options drop-down – The type of value to filter for:
      • Partner – The Partner that the messages were sent to or from.
      • Input File Name – The name of the original input file from the sender.
      • Processing Status – The state of the message's processing (e.g. Map In Failed).
      • Business Process - Message Type – The business process (i.e. TraceLink app) where the message occurs and the type of message (e.g. Product Track - Return Receipt).
      • Application Name – The Owner-defined name of the app where the message occurs (e.g. Kendall Pharma US Product Track).
      • Include Reconciled Messages – This filter indicates whether the message has been addressed and marked as Reconciled in Track & Trace Services Info Exchange.
    2. Value field – The value to view data for.
  3. Select Add Another Filter to specify another filter option.

    Select the Remove icon to remove filter criteria.

  4. Select Apply.

    The results display in the table.

  • Message Type – The type of message that occurs within the Business Process (e.g. Return Receipt for a Business Process of Product Track).
  • Inbound Processing Status – The TraceLink status of the inbound message from the sender (i.e. the message coming into TraceLink).
  • Outbound Processing Status – The TraceLink status of the outbound message sent to the recipient (i.e. the message going out of TraceLink).
  • Sender – The name of the company that sent the message.
  • Recipient – The name of the company that received the message.
  • Business Process – The type of Track & Trace Services app that correlates to the message (e.g. Master Data Exchange, Serialized Operations Manager).
  • Last Updated – The date and time of the most recent update to the message.

View all message data

The all message data view shows all information about Info Exchange messages sent by the Owner and their Partners and allows for additional filtering to explore the data further. Use this view to locate information that is not available in the message summary view.

  1. Select the Main Menu icon .

  2. Select Serialized Product Intelligence.

  3. Select Review Info Exchange Messages in the side menu.
  4. Select the All Message Data View icon in the upper right.

    The view of all message data displays.

To filter data by a keyword

  • Enter Keywords in Filter By to return only rows that contain that text.

To filter data by specific values

  1.  Select Show Additional Filters and fill in the following fields to further filter the results:
    1. Filter By drop-down – The type of value to filter for (e.g. Lot Number).
    2. Value field – The value to view data for (e.g. Last Week).
  2. Select Add Another Filter to specify another filter option.

    Select the Remove icon to remove filter criteria.

  3. Select Apply.

    The results display in the table.

    • Last Updated – The date and time of the most recent update to the message.
    • Transaction Type - The type of transaction associated.
    • Inbound Processing Status – The TraceLink status of the inbound message from the sender (i.e. the message coming into TraceLink).
    • Outbound Processing Status – The TraceLink status of the outbound message sent to the recipient (i.e. the message going out of TraceLink).
    • Sender Company Name – The name of the company that sent the message.
    • Recipient Company Name – The name of the company that received the message.
    • Service Name - The type of Track & Trace Service app associated with the message.
    • Business Process – The type of Track & Trace Services app that correlates to the message (e.g. Master Data Exchange, Serialized Operations Manager).
  1. Select the Export icon to export the messages.

    TraceLink begins generating the CSV file with the data displayed in the table. It is available in the Notifications panel when it is ready.

    You also receive an email when the CSV file is ready.

  • Message Type – The type of message that occurs within the Business Process (e.g. Return Receipt for a Business Process of Product Track).
  • Inbound Processing Status – The TraceLink status of the inbound message from the sender (i.e. the message coming into TraceLink).
  • Outbound Processing Status – The TraceLink status of the outbound message sent to the recipient (i.e. the message going out of TraceLink).
  • Sender – The name of the company that sent the message.
  • Recipient – The name of the company that received the message.
  • Business Process – The type of Track & Trace Services app that correlates to the message (e.g. Master Data Exchange, Serialized Operations Manager).
  • Last Updated – The date and time of the most recent update to the message.

Select a row in the table to view the following values:

  • Parked Expiration Date – The date and time that TraceLink stopped processing the message after putting it on hold.
  • Parked Reason – The reason that TraceLink put the message on hold before retrying.
  • Message ID – TraceLink's unique message identifier. This field determines the available actions against the message (e.g. receipt, import, delivery, redelivery).
  • AS2 Subject – The subject of the AS2 communication protocol.
  • Canonical File Name – The name of the file that TraceLink uses to process the message.
  • Error Message Text – The text of the error message returned if the processing failed.
  • Informational Message Text – The text of any informational message returned during processing.
  • Reconciled – This filter indicates whether the message has been addressed and marked as Reconciled in Track & Trace Services Info Exchange. Displays as Y or N (i.e. Yes or No).
  • Input File Processing Date – The date and time that TraceLink processed the inbound message.
  • Input Map Name – The name of the file that defines how the company sends this message.
  • Input File Name – The name of the original input file from the sender.
  • Input File Format – The file format of the original input file from the sender.
  • Last Output File Processing Date – The last date and time that TraceLink processed the file to send to the recipient.
  • Last Output Map Name – The name of the last file used to determine how TraceLink processes messages for the recipient.
  • Last Output File Name – The name of the file that defines how the company receives this message.
  • Last Output File Format – The file format of the last file that TraceLink sent to the recipient.

View message details

The Message Details view shows the message details list in tabular view either for the entire summary data or for a specific data segment representing business process and transaction type.

  1. Select the Main Menu icon .

  2. Select Serialized Product Intelligence.

  3. Select Review Info Exchange Messages in the side menu.

    The message summary view displays by default with the Dashboard View icon selected in the upper right.

  4. The Business Processes are displayed under the Message Detail view.

Under the Business Process view, a bar chart shows the total successful and total failed message count per business process. By default, the Business Process application with the greatest number of failed messages displays the number of successful and failed messages.

  • Select a Business Process to see its events by Message Type on the right. Also, Messages by Date Timeline Chart is displayed in the lower part of the screen. Scroll horizontally to see the full data set.
  • Select a Message Type to see its details in the Timeline Chart format.
    • To view a data point in table form, select it and then select View Data.
  • Select Show Event Dates to display the Messages by Date graph in the expanded view. Scroll horizontally to see the full data set.

  • Selecting Hide hides the Messages by Date graph.

  • To view a data point in table form, select it and then select View Data.
