Serialized Item

OPUS Serialized Operations Manager users (e.g. pharmacy technicians, dispensers, warehouse operators) can now use a unified search to find and view the status of an individual serialized items (e.g. products, containers).

Search and view a serialized item

  1. Select the Main Menu icon.

  2. Select My Networks.
  3. Select a [SOM Network] from the Select your Network drop-down in the header.
  4. Select a Partner or location from the Select your Partner or Location drop-down in the header.
  5. Select Go.

  6. Select Serialized Item.

  7. Select the Serialized Item on the side menu to search a serial number.
  8. Select the Filter button.

  9. Fill in following to filter the results:

    • Serial Number – The serial number of the item.

  10. Select Apply.

    The results display in the table.

    • Serial Number – The serial number that is queried.
    • Serial Number Status – The current serialization state of the serial number:
      • Commissioned – The serial number is associated with either a GTIN, lot number, and expiration date or an SSCC container code.
      • Registered – The product's serial number is registered, either during repackaging or when the company received a shipment without corresponding serial number data.
      • Deactivated – (missing or bad snippet)
      • Decommissioned – The serial number is no longer associated with either a GTIN, lot number, and expiration date or an SSCC container code.
      • Destroyed – The serial number is terminated. Destroyed serial numbers cannot be re-commissioned.
      • Encoded – The serial number is sent for pre-printing on the product labels after provisioning.
      • Reserved – A packaging location has requested and received the serial number, but it has not been associated to a specific product and lot yet (i.e. commissioned).
      • Unreserved – A packaging location had requested and received the serial number, but no longer needs it, so it is returned to the serial number pool for requests.

    • Item Status – The state of the serialized item:

       The field displays N/A if the Serial Number Status is Decommissioned or Destroyed.

      • Available – The item is available for picking.

      • Blocked – The item is unavailable for picking.

      • Pending Receipt – The transfer of ownership is in an interim state because the shipment awaits receipt confirmation at the receiving location.

      • Picked – There is an item reservation against a specific outbound delivery indicating item picking is complete.

      • Received – There is an item reservation against a specific outbound delivery indicating items are received.

      • Shipped – The transfer of ownership is in an interim state because the shipment is in transit to the receiving location.

      • Under Investigation – The item is quarantined or in a holding state due to a product investigation. The serial number cannot be included in a sales shipment.

    • Country Drug Code The product's country-specific identifier selected when the product was commissioned.

    • Product Description – The product description, which typically includes the product name, dosage, form, and the number of doses.

    • Lot Number – The lot or batch number associated with the serial numbers.

    • Expiration Date – The lot's expiration date.

  11. Select the Serial Number link to display the Serialized Item Details screen.

    • Serial Number – The serial number that is queried.
    • Serial Number Status – The current serialization state of the serial number:
      • Commissioned – The serial number is associated with either a GTIN, lot number, and expiration date or an SSCC container code.
      • Registered – The product's serial number is registered, either during repackaging or when the company received a shipment without corresponding serial number data.

      • AI(01)+AI(21) – An application identifier that contains the item's Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) or National Trade Item Number (NTIN) and Serial Number.

      • AI(00) – A Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC).

      • CN-EDMC – A Chinese Electronic Data Monitoring Code.

    • Item Status – The state of the serialized item:

       The field displays N/A if the Serial Number Status is Decommissioned or Destroyed.

      • Available – The item is available for picking.

      • Blocked – The item is unavailable for picking.

      • Pending Receipt – The transfer of ownership is in an interim state because the shipment awaits receipt confirmation at the receiving location.

    • Commission Location – The SGLN of the location where the serial number was commissioned. Defaults to the parent company if a specific location was not provided during commissioning.
    • Country Market Code – The country in which the product is being registered using the standard two-letter abbreviation specified in ISO 3166-1alpha-2:1997 country code (e.g. US).

    • Last Delivery Number – The unique identifier of the shipment that the serial number is included in. The delivery number is determined by the serial number's current Item Status:

      • The shipment delivery number displays if the serial number's Item Status is Shipped or Picked, or if there is not a receipt delivery number.
      • The receipt delivery number displays if the serial number's Item Status is Available, Pending Receipt, Received, Blocked, or Under Investigation, or if there is not an order delivery number.
    • Registered – Indicates where the serial number information originated:
      • Yes – The serial number was registered by the company in TraceLink, not requested by a packaging location or received as part of the data from a serialized receipt.
      • No – The serial number was not registered; it originated when a packaging location requested serial numbers or the company received it as part of the data from a serialized receipt.
    • Child Count – The number of child serial numbers aggregated to the serial number.

    • Reason Code – The reason for the latest update to the serial number: 

      • Damaged – The product is damaged.
      • Defective – The product does not function as intended.
      • Dispensed – The product is dispensed.
      • Disposed – The product is disposed.
      • Expired – The product reached its expiration date.
      • Misplaced – The product is missing.
      • Inappropriately Stored – The product was stored improperly and is no longer fit for sale.
      • Market Released – The product is released into one or more target markets for distribution.
      • Recalled – The product is recalled by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.
      • Repackaged – The product is repackaged from a different source product.
      • Returned – The product was returned and cannot be resold.
      • Sampled – The product is sampled for quality testing.
      • Sampled - Archival – The product is sampled to store as a record.
      • Sampled - Clinical Study – The product is sampled for a clinical study.
      • Sampled - Customs Control – The product is sampled for inspection control by customs authorities.
      • Sampled - Marketing Demonstration – The product is used in a marketing demonstration.
      • Sampled by Authorities – The product is sampled by government authorities.
      • Sampled - Pharmaceutical Study – The product is sampled for a post-registration pharmaceutical study, to support submitted changes to a dossier.
      • Sampled - Federal Inspection – The product is sampled for federal inspection.
      • Sampled - Selective Control – The product is sampled by health authorities as needed to ensure quality standards.
      • Stolen – The product is stolen.
      • Spoilage – The product is spoiled due to exposure (e.g. heat, oxygen, moisture, microorganisms).
      • Withdrawn – The product is removed from the market by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.
      • Withdrawn - Experiment – The product is withdrawn from the market during the course of an experiment.
      • Other – The product is updated for a reason that is not listed.
    • Product Name – The name of the product.
    • Product Description – The product description, which typically includes the product name, dosage, form, and the number of doses.
    • Country Drug Code – The product's country-specific identifier selected when the product was commissioned.
    • Internal Material Number – The internal material number defined for the product.
    • Packaging Level – The packaging level associated with the serial number:
      • Each – The lowest salable unit of the product.
      • Inner Pack/Bundle – A grouping of eaches packaged together.
      • Case/Shipper – A grouping of inner packs or eaches packaged together.
      • Pallet – A grouping of cases, inner packs, or eaches packaged together on a pallet.
    • Strength – The strength of the product (e.g. 100 mg).
    • Dosage Form – The form that the product is dispensed in (e.g. tablet or pill).
    • Container Size – The number of individual doses in the item.

    This information is determined by the master data defined at the time of commission.

    • Lot Number – The lot or batch number associated with the serial numbers.

      SSCCs might not have a lot number.

    • Packaging Code – The packaging-level identifier that is associated with the serial number:
      • CN Rescode – A 5-digit China packaging code.
      • GTIN-14 – A 14-digit Global Trade Identification Number.
      • NTIN – A 14-digit National Trade Item Number.
    • Manufacturing Date – The date of manufacture associated with the serial number.
    • Expiration Date – The lot's expiration date.
    • Product Name – The name of the product.
    • Product Description – The product description, which typically includes the product name, dosage, form, and the number of doses.
    • Country Drug Code – The product's country-specific identifier selected when the product was commissioned.
    • Internal Material Number – The internal material number defined for the product.
    • Packaging Level – The packaging level associated with the serial number:
      • Each – The lowest salable unit of the product.
      • Inner Pack/Bundle – A grouping of eaches packaged together.
      • Case/Shipper – A grouping of inner packs or eaches packaged together.

    • Markets Release To – The markets where the serial numbers are authorized for distribution and sale.
    • Markets Withdrawn From – The markets where the serial number has been voluntarily removed (e.g.commercial decisions, labeling changes).
    • Markets Recalled From – The target markets that the serial number has been formally recalled due to quality, safety, health risks, or regulatory authority orders.
    • Crypto Key – The encrypted key portion of the serial number's crypto code, generated by the Order Management System (OMS).
    • Crypto Code – The encrypted code portion of the serial number's crypto code, generated by the OMS.
    • Crypto Acquisition Date – The date that the encrypted code portion of the serial number's crypto code is retrieved from the OMS.

    • Receipt – The delivery number of the receipt.

    • Transaction ID Type – The type of transaction (e.g. Purchase Order (PO), Advance Shipment Notice (ASN)).

    • Transaction ID Value – The PO or ASN number associated with the receipt.

    • Transaction ID Date – The date of the PO or ASN.

    • Shipment – The delivery number of the shipment.

    • Transaction ID Type – The type of transaction (e.g. Purchase Order (PO), Advance Shipment Notice (ASN)).

    • Transaction ID Value – The PO or ASN number associated with the shipment.

    • Transaction ID Date – The date of the PO or ASN.

    The parent container information associated with the required serial number.

    • Serial Number – The serial number that the queried serial number is aggregated within.

    • Encoding Type – The encoding format of the serial number based on the packaging code type:

      • AI(01)+AI(21) – An application identifier that contains the item's Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) or National Trade Item Number (NTIN) and Serial Number.

      • AI(00) – A Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC).

    Tips

    • To view the status of the parent serial number, select the Serial Numbers link. The screen refreshes and displays the serial number status of the parent serial number.

    • Product – The name of the product.

    • Lot Number – The lot or batch number associated with the serial numbers.

    • Expiration Date – The expiration date of the product.

    • Serial Number – The list of child serial numbers.

    Tips

    • To view the status of a child serial number, select the Serial Number link. The screen refreshes and displays the serial number status of the selected child serial number.
