Batch closure APIs

Batch closure is a formal process of completing all production-related activities for a specific batch of goods. This includes the finalization of manufacturing steps, thorough quality testing, and the review and approval of all associated documentation. After a batch is closed, it is considered complete—no further changes can be made—and it is cleared for packaging, shipping, or distribution.

Each batch undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it meets established standards for purity, potency, and safety. Only after the batch passes all required quality checks and receives final approval from Quality Assurance (QA) is it formally closed and authorized for release to pharmacies, hospitals, or other healthcare providers.

In digitally integrated environments such as MINT, a Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) notifies the Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) of the batch closure through an electronic transaction. This ensures real-time visibility, enhances regulatory compliance, and helps coordinate timely distribution.

Batch closure is a key milestone that ensures every product released to the market is safe, effective, and fully compliant with global regulatory requirements.
