Receipt Event Overview

The Receipt Event message allows Owners and Partners to indicate the receipt of product into their warehouse, which moves the serial numbers from a pending state to an available state. It can be exchanged between both TraceLink and non-TraceLink users and is often triggered via configurable workflows in Serialized Operations Manager. This message supports Purchase, Transfer, and Return receipts and supports the following events associated with receiving:

  • 1. Aggregation Event (optional)
  • 2. Object Event Receiving (mandatory)
  • Owners who receive inbound transfer shipments can configure their instance of Serialized Operations Manager to automatically receive transfer shipments without having to submit a Receipt Event message. When enabled, the system automatically receives the inbound transfer shipments without any additional action. All serial numbers associated with the transfer shipment are put into the available state.

Additionally, Owners can configure Serialized Operations Manager to specifically include or exclude the receipt of transfer shipments from specific countries (e.g. an Owner can configure Serialized Operations Manager to automatically receive only transfer shipments with a ship-to Country Code of China or to automatically receive all transfer shipments except those with a ship-to Country Code of China).

This message uses the Park and Retry functionality. If a prerequisite condition for this message has not been met, TraceLink stops processing the task, returns the task to the queue, and then tries to process the task again every 15 minutes for up to 2 hours.
