Product Release Event Overview (EPCIS v1.2)

The Product Release Event message allows Owners to communicate the release of a product, most commonly supporting the exchange of data between a CMO and Pharmaceutical Manufacturer. It can be exchanged between both TraceLink and non-TraceLink users and is often triggered via configurable workflows in Serialized Operations Manager. This message communicates Commission, Aggregation, and Product Release data in a single message in a manner similar to a Shipment Event message. The message supports five events associated with the Product Release:

  1. ObjectEvent Commissioning (mandatory)
  2. AggregationEvent (optional)
  3. ObjectEvent Product Release (mandatory)
  4. ObjectEvent Decommission (optional)
  5. ObjectEvent Destroy (optional)
This message uses the Park and Retry functionality. If a prerequisite condition for this message has not been met, TraceLink stops processing the task, returns the task to the queue, and then tries to process the task again every 15 minutes for up to four hours.
