Using Asynchronous APIs with Smart Inventory Tracker
Smart Inventory Tracker for Warehouse Operations leverages asynchronous APIs to communicate when a warehouse operator completes a shipment or receipt. Product information included in these messages can be used to update the inventory within the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or Warehouse Management System (WMS) with the most recent shipment or receipt.
How to read the guidelines table

- Element – The source or field name included in the message.
- Type – The type of data format required for the value (e.g. String, Integer, Boolean, Date, Time).
- Occurs – The minimum and maximum amount of times that the particular field might occur within the message.
- Length – The length of the value.
- Description – A description of the value, including its format and acceptable values, if needed.
How to read the errors table

- Element – The source or field name included in the message.
- Error Message – The class 1 error message. Class 1 errors are mapping validation errors and occur when the data structure of the message is validated.
- Description – The reason description for the error message.
Shipment Information Update (XML) API
Smart Inventory Tracker Owners receive the Shipment Information Update (XML) outbound message from TraceLink when a warehouse operator completes a shipment. This message includes the products, lot numbers, quantities, and container information associated with the delivery number, which can be used to update inventory within the company's ERP system or WMS.
Owners, or an Administrator for the Owner, must enable the Complete Shipment event workflow and set the message to be delivered automatically in the Transaction Delivery Rules in Company Administration to receive this message.

Receipt Information Update (XML) API
Smart Inventory Tracker Owners receive the Receipt Information Update (XML) outbound message from TraceLink when a warehouse operator completes a receipt. This message includes the products, lot numbers, quantities, and container information associated with the delivery number, which can be used to update inventory within the company's ERP system or WMS.
Owners, or an Administrator for the Owner, must enable the Complete Receipt event workflow and set the message to be delivered automatically in the Transaction Delivery Rules in Company Administration to receive this message.
