Deactivate Event Overview (EPCIS v1.2)

The Deactivate Event message allows Owners to send uncommissioned, unused serial numbers to their trading partners. It can be exchanged between both TraceLink and non-TraceLink users and is often triggered via configurable workflows in Serialized Operations Manager. One common use case is a CMO sending serial numbers to a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.

There are both inbound and outbound versions of the Deactivate Event message. The inbound message contains data received by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer and the outbound message contains data sent by the CMO.
