Add Partner

Overview

Select Partner on the Partners screen.

Invite Trade Partners to join the Owner's application so that they can collaborate and share data with others in TraceLink.

[Application] Information

A Company Administrator sets the information displayed below in Company Administration.

  • Name – The name that the Owner assigns to their app.
  • Owner – The company that owns the app.
  • Description – The Owner's description of the app (displays as -- if the Owner did not enter a description).

Partner Information

  • Company – The name of the company. Users can enter their own company (to link internal locations as Partners) or a Partner company.
  • Entity – The specific entity to link.

    If the Company is not the Owner's company and the Owner has not yet established a Link to this app with the Partner Company selected, the company and its locations display as options. If the Owner already established a Link with the Partner Company, only the Partner's locations display as options.

  • Manager Email – The email address of the TraceLink Member at the Partner company or location who receives the Link invitation. Once this Member accepts the invitation, he or she becomes the Manager for the new Link and can give other Members at the Partner company or location access to the app.

    A Manager must always be assigned with a new Partner. Use Company Administration to change the Manager.

Available Actions

  1. Enter a Company in the type-ahead field.

    If the desired company does not display in the type-ahead field, the company must be added on the Company Administration > Manage Partners screen.

  2. Select an Entity from the drop-down.

    If the desired location does not display in the drop-down, check the following:

    • Internal locations must be added to Company Master Data, enabled in Company Administration > Manage Locations, and list an identifier on the Company Administration > Manage Partners > Set Identifiers screen.
    • External Partner locations must list an identifier in the Partner company's entry on the Company Administration > Manage Partners > Set Identifiers screen, and a Company Administrator from the Partner company must enable the location in Company Administration > Manage Locations.
  3. Enter a Manager Email in the text field.
  4. Select Submit.

    The Partners screen displays, and TraceLink sends a Link invitation to the Partner.

Error Messages

Error messages display on the screen in red text:

Error Action
Enter a Company Name. Select a Company Name from the drop-down.
Enter an Entity. Select a Linked Entity from the drop-down.
Enter a Manager Email Address. Enter an email in the text field.
The email address you entered does not correspond to an existing TraceLink user at the company you are inviting. Enter a valid email in the text field. TraceLink users can be added in Administration.
