Decrement Transaction History Quantity Overview
Decrement Transaction History Quantity message is used for decrementing inflated inventory quantities associated with Transaction Histories (THs). Previously, inventory updates directly changed inventory quantities associated with THs in the database. This did not provide a clear history of how the inventory was changed, which complicated reconciliation between inventory reported by TraceLink and external ERP systems.
Instead of adjusting the quantity associated with a TH directly in the database (as was previously done), this message treats each adjustment separately and creates a new TH record for each change. This improves traceability and leaves a TH artifact for each quantity decrement in Inventory Reports, which is fully searchable.
Lot Number and NDC are also mandatory fields in order to help pinpoint an exact match for a TH, allowing for increased accuracy.
