Import File
Overview

Select the
button on the Info Exchange screen.
Import a file to manually create a message in a TraceLink application where the company is an Owner or a Partner (if a message was not created automatically).
Import File

This selection determines the available options in the drop-down.
– A list of Links that the user belongs to.
See Message Types for more information.
– The type of message for the specific app (e.g. the Product Track app's could be Pick/Ship, Return Receipt, Create Initial Transaction).- CSV - TraceLink's Format – Defined and maintained by TraceLink.
- Configured Format – The user-defined file format (e.g. an XML file).
The Configured Format drop-down menu option is selected in almost all instances.
– The following file types are accepted:File size limit is 50MB. Upload any of the file formats described above. The zip file may contain only one message file. Use this feature for larger files as it prevents significant upload latency. The file will also be available for download if the upload is successful.
– The designated upload file.

Each TraceLink app requires a unique file layout, depending on the desired event upload. Select the API Guides link each app's online help to view specific API guides.

The "TraceLink is attempting to process the file you specified – this may take several minutes. If you do not see the file you uploaded in the table below, check this screen later to see if the import was successful." message displays on the Info Exchange screen.
After the file processes successfully, the message displays in the results table on the Info Exchange screen.
