Void Shipment Overview (XML)
The Void Shipment message allows Owners and Partners to communicate from a warehouse location that a delivery will be cancelled or corrected. This message uses the delivery number to identify the shipment to be voided and provides a reason for the change in status. After a delivery is voided, the serial numbers that make up that delivery are reverted from the shipped state to the available state.
For government reporting purposes, when a delivery is voided and cancelled (OrderCancelled is true
), the order is discarded and shipment information cannot be corrected. If the delivery has been voided but not cancelled (OrderCancelled is set to false
), companies may later send updated information to correct the previously submitted shipment information. The corrected voided delivery may be reported to the government as a “Corrected Shipment."
